There was splurge guns and custard pies at Guiseley Theatre between the 22nd – 27th February when Guiseley Amateur Operatic Society presented Bugsy Malone.
The show, set in America during the prohibition years of the 1920’s, is usually performed by children but the GAOS version had a full adult cast.
This was the idea of Director Michael Kirkby who as a youth played Angelo, one of Fat Sam’s Gang, in the original film starring Jodie Foster back in the 1970’s.
It is a great fun show, with some lively Charleston music as well as bluesy numbers.
